Wicker Park

Wicker Park is loud at the corner and quiet around it. North, Damen and Milwaukee meet in a tangle of record shops, vintage stores, bars and restaurants. Two blocks away you're on a street of Victorian mansions and old shade trees. The Blue Line and The 606 trail tie it all together.

What is it like to live in Wicker Park, Chicago?

Wicker Park has been one of Chicago's arts and music neighborhoods for decades, and Milwaukee Avenue still shows it. Independent shops, music venues, coffee and late-night food run in every direction from the six-way corner at North and Damen. Division Street, on the south edge, is lined with patios. The four-acre park the neighborhood is named for sits just off the main drag with a fountain, a garden and a dog area.

What kinds of homes are in Wicker Park?

Victorian mansions and greystones in the historic district, brick two-flats and three-flats, loft conversions along Milwaukee, and newer condos and single-family homes. Lot by lot it is one of the most varied housing mixes on this side of the city.

How do you get around?

The CTA Blue Line stops at Damen and at Division, with trains running around the clock to the Loop and O'Hare. Buses run on North, Damen, Division, Ashland and Milwaukee. The 606 trail forms the northern border.
