What is it like to live in Logan Square, Chicago?

Logan Square gives you room to breathe and plenty to do. Logan, Kedzie and Humboldt boulevards and Palmer Square are broad parkways made for long walks and porch sitting. Milwaukee Avenue cuts through on the diagonal with restaurants, cocktail bars, coffee roasters and the Logan Theatre. The Sunday farmers market moved in 2026 to the redesigned plaza at the traffic circle.

What kinds of homes are in Logan Square?

Greystones and large older homes along the boulevards, brick two-flats and three-flats on the side streets, converted industrial lofts, and newer condos and single-family homes. Two-flats are a big part of the market, both as investments and as conversions.

How do you get around?

The CTA Blue Line stops at Western, California and Logan Square, with trains running 24 hours to the Loop and O'Hare. The Kennedy Expressway runs along the northeast side. The 606 trail forms the southern border.

• The Illinois Centennial Monument went up in 1918. Its architect, Henry Bacon, also designed the Lincoln Memorial.
• The Logan Square Boulevards Historic District joined the National Register in 1985 and became a Chicago Landmark in 2005.
• The neighborhood is named for General John A. Logan.
• Time Out put Logan Square on its list of the world's coolest neighborhoods in 2024.
